Let’s read this article and know. Massive open online course (MOOC) enables several people to participate at a single time and learn on the web. MOOC is just like a University or college course. This open access mode of education is a recent development in distance education and has become the most sought after way of learning. A person with a computer and internet can attend the online courses for free through MOOC. In-fact, MOOC has become the buzzword of higher education. The classes expand the University’s reach to millions of people across the globe, apart from serving to the students studying in the respective universities. MOOC is increasingly becoming popular, as more and more colleges and Universities are evincing keen interest to be a part of it. Coursera is a for-profit company founded by two Stanford University computer science faculty members. Prestigious universities such as Princeton University as well as the University of Virginia have tied up with Coursera to offer free and no-credit courses online.
