Burberry Group Plc - a UK company, a manufacturer of apparel, accessories and luxury perfumes. Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, when he opened small store in Hampshire. In 1880 Thomas Burberry invented the world's first "breathing", rainproof fabric gabardine in which it was possible to hide from weather, named after the place mentioned in the works of Shakespeare. In 1888, the technology of gabardine was patented. Clothes made from new material have become an alternative to heavy rubber cloaks.
