The Indian economy today boasts of a strong annual growth rate, deep capital markets and liberalised foreign direct investment (FDI) regime. The pharma market in India is expected to touch US$ 74 billion in sales by 2020 from the current US$ 11 billion; according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) report. Growth will be driven by the fastest growing molecules in the diabetes, skincare and eye care segment, as per a report by research firm, Credit Suisse. So, it is one of the most important investment sectors in India. Power: India has been one of the top performing clean energy economies in the 21st century, registering the fifth highest five-year rate of investment growth and eighth highest in installed renewable energy capacity. The sector is opening up new opportunities for NRIs/PIOs.
