It was the start of the feud with the two golfers taking a swing at each other with their comments. The first burst of fire came from Garcia with the following statement: "He's not my favorite guy to play with. He's not the nicest guy on tour." I don't think any professional golfer would make Woods their favorite player. He has been so dominant on the sport and that makes him a natural enemy for all the others. Woods response to the statement is somewhat simple yet carries a deep meaning: "It's not real surprising that he's complaining about something." This is a shot at how Garcia seems to complain about things instead of just playing through hitches and challenges. Woods is a fierce competitor and anything that hinders him from winning is just another challenge that he needs to overcome. Still, Garcia fired another shot: "That's also probably the first thing he's told you guys that's true in 15 years. I know what he's like. You guys are finding out." It's a shot at Woods' honesty that seems to go beyond the sport. As you might recall, in 2009, he was in an incident that involved a fire hydrant, a tree and, reportedly, an angry wife with a golf club.
