This year I am planning to add an outdoor fountain to my place, mostly because a handful of friends, have commented that this is what I need. Besides the fact that I am fatefully insecure and other people’s opinions count more than my own, I have decided that this spring or summer I am biting the bullet and adding one, maybe two. There are many great fountain choices available. For the first one at least, I have decided to buy a hanging wall fountain that I will locate to regurgitate water, close enough to anyone who wants to give further advice. The location is on an empty wall in close proximity to an outlet. (Did I also mention that I am a master of efficiency and inherently lazy?) I have a friend who is a builder, and he has offered to install another GFI outlet so that he I mean I can enjoy a large tiered fountain permanently located within one of my lovely garden beds. I understand his offer. He likes the idea of a sizable fountain, one that carries the acoustics of running water like a high flowing stream: He doesn’t particularly care for the gentle quieter running ones, of which there are many. It’s not surprising that he likes to hear the sound of water outdoors: he did grow up right on the coast. I did too. Fountain Number Two Depending upon how well my first fountain addition goes, I may go for fountain number 2. This one I’m thinking belongs in the front of the house, something casual and low key, but offering a presence. This one might just make my builder friend’s day, because I think a tiered fountain here might work for both of us. And, I’m hoping it will work for anyone else who cares to comment.
