Homeowners who have lawns know how difficult it is to deal with lawns especially during the hot summer months. You want to learn some quick fixes so that no matter what stresses your lawn is facing, it can still be something you want to look at every time you step out of your house. Dull looking lawns If you are having an upcoming function and you want the lawn to live up to it, there are simple things you can do. Lawn service experts advice that you need to have a bag of urea which is a quick release synthetic fertilizer at hand. This can be used at any time even during mid summer; apply the fertilizer at the rate of a half a pound for every 1000 square feet and just enough water only a weekend before the gathering and you will experience some magic that will last for up to two weeks. Trouble with dogs If there are round patches of dried grass on your lawn, there are chances you are dealing with dog urine that has a high concentration of nitrogen that burns grass. When you notice where your dog has urinated, try washing it out immediately using a bucket of water. However, the best solution is to train your dog to use a particular area of the yard that cannot be noticed easily or where you have placed some mulch. During simmer, scrape off the dead grass from the spot and loosen the soil before watering it so the soil can be moist. Grub invasion Is your lawn showing signs of wilted or dried out patches that are easy to pull off? This may be grub invasion. Ask your lawn treatment expert for a product that you can use during summer so as to control grand especially when they have hatched. Spot problem areas All lawns have some areas that have seen better days as a result of heavy traffic and the grass struggles to grow. During mid summer you may want to consider doing some things differently. You may want to lay some mulch where the kids play or perhaps create a stone walkway where people pass as they go towards the garden, check where you see spots and ask yourself or a landscaping expert what you can do differently. Dealing with shade issues Yu most probably have discovered that grass grows thinly in areas that are under the shade. The best solution is to try and prune tree branches so as to let in more sunlight; grass will not just grow in an area that has no sunlight. You may also have to over-seed those areas during fall because the conditions are right for seed germination.
