Creams for wrinkles are a multibillion dollar industry, and sales continue to rise year on year. Naturally this upward trend is set to continue as well, since we all want retain our youthful looks and picture-perfect complexion. There's nothing wrong this, but what is alarming, is the fact that so few people ever bother checking through the list of ingredients before they buy a particular cream or lotion. Humans are in some respect, extremely gullible, and this is something the cosmetics industry has been exploiting for decades, or perhaps even centuries. The vast majority of people never question skin care manufactures tell them. They see glossy magazine adverts and countless TV commercials promoting creams and lotions which can apparently reduce wrinkles overnight, and they fall for it hook, line, and sinker. Very few stop to think about the fact that the models appearing in those adverts look nothing they do in the adverts. When those commercials are made, special lighting effects are used; highly skilled makeup artists are brought in, and etc. Even then, after all that effort, images are always digitally enhanced, so no it's not a matter of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). Rather than look at the adverts, consumers should be focusing on what ingredients are being used in a specific cream or lotion before they go ahead and buy it. If chemical based cosmetics were few and far between, we wouldn't need to be overly concerned, but unfortunately they're not few and far between. To the contrary, nearly all the regular mainstream brands are packed with chemicals, although this is something the manufacturers don't like mentioning, since many of the most commonly used chemicals pose a serious health risk. Creams for wrinkles are very often even more risky than regular skin creams, since most of the brand name one contain very powerful chemical substances which are routinely present in high concentrations in order for the cream to produce the results the manufacturers have promised. Some of the more serious chemicals being used are briefly discussed below. Triclosan - A powerful antibacterial compound added to many skin care products in order to extend shelf life. This chemical can also be found in most weed killers, and you'll find drums of it in factories where they make urinals; toilet bowls; toilet seats; refuse bags, and etc. Traces of it can also be found in waste water which has been treated and released backed into the environment. Water treatment cannot remove all traces of it, and once it finds its way into surface water, it reacts with UV light and forms dioxins which are a huge environmental concern since it causes mass infertility in fish. PEG (Polyethylene glycol) - Although the jury is still out on this one, there is mounting evidence to suggest it's carcinogenic (can cause cancer). Padimate-O - This is added primarily to sunscreens, although it is increasingly being added to wrinkle treatments as well. Ironically, recently studies, which are still ongoing, are suggesting this chemical may actually increase the risk of cancer, rather than help in preventing it. Nitrosamines - While nitrosamines aren't actually added to skin care products, they can and do form when ingredients such as DEA, MEA or TEA are with certain preservative. No further research is needed since nitrosamines are a very well known carcinogen. Phenol carbolic acid - Extensively used in skin care products, including creams for wrinkles. High levels of exposure can a person's circulatory system to collapse. It can also cause convulsions, paralysis and coma. In fact, excessive exposure can lead to total respiratory failure, and of course that means death. In this short article, I've only discussed 5 potentially dangerous chemicals, but you can be rest assured there are countless more. The large mainstream skin care manufacturers are aware of the dangers involved, and yet they continue using these chemicals. So, my question is..........if these corporate giants couldn't care less about the health and well being of billions of people around the world, do you honestly believe they're even remotely interested in helping you to get rid of your lines and wrinkles? If you're longing to find creams for wrinkles, which don't contain a single questionable ingredient, then please take a look at my website at http://www.naturalbeautyandskincare.com/.
