There were times when medical records of the patients used to be documented in papers. These papers were then stored in files which were stored in storerooms. Getting access to the right patient’s file became a huge issue since it always took time to search and find. That often led to delay and made things difficult in the process of medical treatment. There were also many other issues like L\lack of space and systematic arrangement. That is exactly why medical transcription in India became popular. There was a rise of medical transcription companies who saw an opportunity to come to the rescue of medical treatment in India. And at the same time make a business out of it. Medical transcription in India did a good study of medical transcription abroad and soon started adopting its methods. Like, they adopted the technology of western countries which included storing medical records using electronic devices. With a rise in technology, we saw the rise of computers and new equipments. All of this boosted the growth of medical transcription as a business and as a profession.

These voice files were then converted into text. All of this was taken care of before by the hospital staff. But soon the professional way of medical transcription took over. The developed countries took immense advantage of this by using the method of medical transcription outsourcing.

It is because of this that more people started getting employment in developing countries. However, what they did not realize is that they are not getting the worth they actually deserve. In Medical transcription outsourcing, they were obviously paid but not as much as their work demanded. But they never really realized this since they never knew what to ask for. You can almost say that labour was being exploited like the times of colonialism. However, with changing times people are gradually realizing its importance and the money that should actually be earned.
