Joint pain is a common ailment in most women above 45. The minor pain can turn into aggravated conditions. So, it is high time you followed certain useful tips to keep your joints intact.

Consider Your Age

Well, most of us like to think young and act young. However, as much we try to ignore the fact we are getting older every single day. The physical activities which you considered as normal a decade back might be a dangerous one now. So, if you are a person who likes fixing his/her own stuff should consider taking the help of the neighborhood boy to mend the leaky roof patch. Moreover, if you wish to start a new physical activity do not jump into it immediately. Get acquainted with the exercise gradually and accordingly set your expectations.

Balance your Movement

While you cannot allow your joints to be overstressed, staying put won’t help either. You need to maintain a balance between motion and rest. Constant use of joints will cause severe abrasion of bones and result in soreness, but lowering your movement to a little more than nil will result in stiffness. Therefore, make sure you use your joints wisely so as to not aggravate your pain.

Maintain Posture

While our bodies are designed to be flexible, it still needs to maintain a specific posture when not in movement. Slumping and slouching is common with almost everyone, but an erect posture prevents bones from rubbing against one another. Once you get used to standing and sitting straight, your body will automatically get used to the posture and you won’t feel the stress.

Take a Warm Bath

You need to find some time for yourself from within your busy schedule. Soak in warm water in a relaxing position. The mild heat will soothe and relax your joints and give them a break from the straining activity. An alternative is Paraffin Bath.

Paraffin bath is not exactly a bath. It involves dipping yourself into warm molten wax. Once the substance hardens around your legs and hands, ask someone to wrap a cloth in order to prevent the heat from dissipating.

Work with the Right Posture

People working at their desks in a hunched over position is a normal sight in almost all offices. However, you need to change your habits and get some ergonomic seating stuff to prevent the most obvious consequences- lower back pain and neck and shoulder pain. When you work, make sure you have a high back chair which does not force you to bend down or slouch. If your work demands standing at a desk or counter, then make sure the desk has an optimum height so that you need not hunch down and complete your paperwork.

A Healthy Diet

Your diet counts a lot when it comes to healthy joints. Caffeine and Trans fats can be serious inflammatory ingredients which can hype your condition. Shifting your dietary constituents to omega 3 fatty acids, fish, nuts and glucosamine rich supplements will be extremely beneficial. Also, Egg shell membrane and turmeric have been found useful in relieving joint pain. Apart from this certain food supplements like Flex Protex D, which contain the exclusive joint pain relief ingredient, Glucosamine, can be very helpful if taken on a regular basis.
