Hindu Lord Ganesha Hindu Lord Ganesha is one of the most well-known Hindu deities and this is mainly attributed to the fact that Lord Ganesha is the remover of all obstacles. We all face obstacles in our life in various forms. These obstacles may be due to planetary influences, karmic accumulation, enemies or just because of our lack of planning. A commonly advised remedy to overcome such obstacles is to please Hindu Lord Ganesha. The following is a simple ritual that can be performed by anyone willing to get the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Everyday in the morning after your bath, light a lamp in front of a photo or idol of Lord Ganesha. Then look into the photo and chant the following mantras 3 times each : Om gum ganapathaye vighnanashakaya namaha Om gum ganapathaye dharmarakshaya namaha Om gum ganapathaye sarvasiddhaya namaha You may also place a fruit or some food in front of the idol/photo of Hindu Lord Ganesha on fridays, while chanting the above mantras. Make this a regular habit and then you will see all your obstacles vanishing by the grace of Lord Ganesha. We pray to the one with the expandable belly (lambodaraya) who is omnipresent (viddhamahe). We meditate upon and pray for greater intellect (dhimahi) to the Lord with the huge belly (mahodaraya). We bow before the one with the single-tusked elephant tooth (tanno danti) to illuminate our minds with wisdom (pracodayat). Lord Ganesha , son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, is worshiped in Hindu Religion as the god of beginnings, knowledge, wisdom, intellect and remover of obstacles. One always starts any prayer, ritual or occasion by worshiping the Beloved Elephant God.
