Basically, the Halloween means escaping of the daily routine, dressing up and entertaining with some scary games and trick-or-treating. We all wait for October, being the time of year when we are allowed to act like children again and make fun without restraints. Of course, a good start for any Halloween celebration is a scary and funny costume. Around Halloween, we dress up as different traditional characters as ghosts, mummies, vampires and witches. Children go from door to door and ask for candies and other sorts of goodies to neighbours. Some of them manage perfectly to turn into little monsters that we want to see gone from our doorsteps in the shortest time possible. During October, people attend Halloween parties and become for a night everything they imagine to be after life, letting their regular selves at home. When else can grown men bandage themselves completely and wear sharp teeth or women to dress up as hideous witches? Being someone else for a night, can help you to get rid of complexes and fell better about your real self for the rest of year. At Halloween, you can decorate anything in the house and outside of it. You can completely change the face of your bedroom, kitchen, yard, even the garage. It’s fun for everyone to do it and for neighbours to admire the result, being an entertaining activity for all the family. For giving some tiny shivers to your friends, you can dress up into some creature and come at their doors with trick-or-treating. Or you can have mercy and don’t scare them so badly, by sending only some ecards for Halloween. The e-cards are extremely funny and some of them a little creepy. However, they can be sent to anyone and the positive effect is guaranteed. Don’t forget about the horror movies that are not allowed to miss on TV or DVD at Halloween. Some people are completely against horror movies, being terrified by all those bloody creatures. But let’s not avoid this perfect part of a Halloween program. Some horror movies are really daring for the weak spirits but they also put everybody in spirit of this celebration. We can choose to watch a good horror movie, without clichés and too much violence. Perhaps the parents are not huge fans of these kinds of movies, but any teenager will find it thrilling and entertaining. For the Halloween celebration, we have to step out of our comfort zone and enjoy this holiday as October comes. From watching horror movies, decorating our homes with cobwebs and jack-o-lanterns, to making cookies in specific Halloween shapes and dressing-up, any activity should be inspired for this terrible day we celebrate once a year.
