You've seen the various sales ads and programs that spout how easy it is to start your own online business and make money within days. If you've started down that path and noticed it's not as easy as advertised, don't get too discouraged. You've taken the most important step, which is you've decided to make a change. What is the next step from there? I think it leaves you with three options. 1. You can just give up and quit. This is the easiest of the options, and it's the one that most internet marketing newbies choose once they bump into their first disappointment. Statistics show that over 95% of all beginning marketers fail, but I think it's because they don't know where to begin. Whatever you do, please don't go down this route. 2. You can hit the internet and try to find as much free information as possible. Make Google your best friend and search for everything you can find. There are tens of thousands of sites on the web that are dedicated to providing you with tons of valuable (free) information. Pros: -You're just starting out, and most likely you don't have the income to pay for the information. The internet is a great source of free information. -You will find a ton of great tips on each of the fields you're going to need help in (finding the right hosting, choosing domain name, creating content, and driving traffic) Cons: -Time. Most internet marketing newbies are currently working a full time job. You're tired once you're done a full day of work and you don't want to waste time trying to find the best information. -Although you'll find great tips, do you think that you'll find the best success secrets for free? -How do you determine the good tips from the not so good tips? You're new, so you don't really have a good basis on deciphering what's good and what's crap. 3. You can pay for a product or course that will show you the "battle tested" secrets to start producing income a lot sooner. Pros: -Paying for the information really cuts down the time involved in the learning curve. -You usually will be given a nice detailed game plan on how to proceed Cons: -You've got to pull out the money and pay for it. Most people are looking to build their own business because they have trouble paying their existing bills. -How do you know which program to use? There are so many of them out there and each of them claims to show you the best way to profit. There's nothing wrong with going down the free route. Trust me, you will find a ton of great information out on the internet. It's really important that once you get some good information to take action. Many people get bogged down with the amount of information they get, they start to feel a little overwhelmed on where to begin, and they end up doing absolutely nothing with it. One thing to remember is that no one started out in internet marketing with all of the answers. There isn't one concrete plan to follow. What sets the succesful marketers apart from the non-successful marketers is that they didn't give up. They continue to test various techniques to see what works. When something fails, they adjust things slightly and test using the adjustment. They continue down the path of testing and trying until they find the system that works. Once they find a way that works, they take that blueprint, and try to replicate it within another niche. The same thing applies if you decide to go down the "paid" path. It does you no good to buy the latest and greatest ebook or video instructional series if you take all the information provided and do nothing with it. The most important point to remember is that you need to take action. You can't make any money online if you don't take action. I can guarantee you that! If you keep trying and testing I really believe that you will finally crack that code and start making some decent money online. Once the code is cracked, the possiblities really are endless. Apply the method that works, and scale it up over various niches, and you will be able to achieve those dreams of quitting your day job and working for yourself. One site that makes you a $300 profit per month is a great supplement to your income. If you only stick to a modest goal of creating one site every other month, that would give you six sites within a year, each generating $300 per month or $1800 total per month. Imagine if you can get to 10 sites, or 20. The income really starts to add up. Getting started online is difficult. I don't want to sugar coat it. It requires a lot of hard work, but it's something that anyone online should be able to accomplish if they have the right game plan. Can you get started online without spending any money? I don't think you can. Do you need to spend a lot of money to get started? No, but you've got to invest it in the right items.
