Suleen B. Mohammed, a former employee of women’s clothing retailer Lane Bryant has filed a wrongful termination lawsuit against the company. She worked for the company for several months in the spring of 2012, and says claims she was a victim of racism, such as the deliberate mispronunciation of her name. Lane Bryant ultimately terminated Mohammed, and she claims it was due to her ethnicity. Mohammed is suing for damages as well as for back pay and her employee benefits. Racial discrimination is a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and no employee should be subjected to it under any circumstances. Brian Kesluk, Kesluk & Silverstein.
