Both HK p2000 and HK p30 are semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Heckler and Koch. Both were also primarily designed for the law enforcement agencies and the military but also available for the commercial users. The major difference in the two pistol models lie in their ergonomics and design rather purpose of usage , much because both these pistols are also used in military combat, sport and tactical shooting and hunting expeditions. There are some noted difference in the action time and operating mechanism as well of hk P30 and hk p2000. The design technology in p2000 reflects that of USP Compact. Shooter comfort is held in high regard. While P30 mainly reflects the evolving technology present in both hk usp compact and the HK P2000. The pistol is chambered in 9 mm and .40 S&W caliber. The P2000 is proved to be more stress resistant for its ergonomics. The short recoil operated gun has a tilting barrel solid polymer making and exchangeable backstraps with adjustable grips. It gives the users a chance to customize the grip as per usage. The simplicity in design also reduces on the cost of the products to a large extent. The pistol is also very light weighing with facility to mount any accessories. Adapted to a number of triggering firing mode, with option for conversion, there is instant change from double action only to single action/double action trigger mode. The subcompact model is known as the P2000SK that has the ability to fire up to 13 rounds of the 9 mm caliber. For 12 rounds, the p2000sk fires both the .357 cartridge and the .40 S&W calibers. If you are comparing with the hk p2000 models, than hk p30 pistol is much modular and modern in every way. It adheres to the HK Law Enforcement Modification (LEM) system of trigger. The Picatinny rail is present in front of the frame and fires in two modes – double action/single action. What is missing in p30 is the pre-cocked hammer, short trigger pull, extended magazine release and dual slide release. The simple set of pistol possesses a crisp trigger, safety guard and open rail system making it a perfect civilian weapon. The only resemblance that one finds with the USP compact is the hooked trigger guard widely found in the USP pistols. The innovative trigger operation though is also seen in the P2000 model that has the slide back mechanism after every shot is fired.
