Was a Nazarene from Nazareth. Spent some time in Egypt ("Out of Egypt have I called my son"). Born in Bethlehem. He was preceded by John the Baptist, son of Zachariah and Elizabeth, who walked in the spirit and power of Elijah. John said of Jesus, "After me comes he that is mightier than me, whose shoe latchet I am unworthy to unloose." The words of Jesus are found in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
