Life Is Distracting - How Do We Deal With It?

Health,Self Improvement,Motivation
Life is fast paced. Everyone has more to carry out than the time get it done in. In fact the more quickly we move, the quicker it appears to hurry by. Life, it might seem, sets itself to our schedule.

Simply taking the time to read through this is most likely challenging to some people. And even then I speculate just how much consideration one can give these words along with the picture they are painting. Undoubtedly you do have things on your mind – tasks, individuals to see as well as concerns for the things that have already occurred throughout your day.

When you notice your thoughts you will find they are dominated by those two aspects – concerns regarding the future together with concern for the past. The condition is this, that the future doesn’t really exist – yet. Not to mention nor does the past – any more, other than in our minds where they exist as thoughts, ideas as well as memories. However we provide them with a great deal of attention at the cost of the one thing that really does exist – the moment we are living in. The present.

Ours is an time of consumerism. Regardless of whether it be in the shape of media, food, belongings, places or even products, we all love to absorb information. Our mind devours information and facts that comes its way via our senses. However it not only consumes as much content as possible, it produces it to – a lot of it. And in this manner it eats a little something worth a whole lot more to us – our attention.

The instant we wake up, our mind begins creating thoughts, originally as a small stream. Yet gradually, when the motor warms up, it generates a mind of its very own generating a constant flow of continuing conversation until people are swept away in a torrent of noise. It is really not surprising people are depleted right at the end of the day, our focus as well as energy entirely drained by the sheer volume of this never-ending chatter. But the disturbing thing is, people are unaware of it.

Perhaps you have pulled into the drive way at the conclusion of the day to notice that you can’t recall any of the drive home? Or perhaps been reading through a book to discover you haven’t taken any of the last page in must restart? It really is as though you weren’t present, almost like you had been some other place. In fact the simple truth is, you were. You had been on autopilot, your concentration used up by the thoughts in your brain, not present to that which had been taking place around you or to the moment you were in.

Eckhart Tolle equates it to the analogy of a dog that captures the smell of foods in the area and is passionate about obtaining the source until he is woken up by the hooter of a swerving vehicle to discover him self at the center of a freeway astonished exactly how he got there.

The reality is, we use up a lot of our existence in differing levels of similar unconsciousness. People are at terrible at performing more than one thing at one time. We have a fixed measure of attention and the more balls there are in the air, the less attention there is for each of those balls.
