David Byrne tickets are now available and can be bought or sold online at StubHub.com. It’s been more than three decades since David Byrne and Brian Eno teamed up to create My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, a pioneering work that blended sound collage, world folk music and electronica. Both have gone separate ways since then: Byrne founded Luaka Bop, his world music label, and Eno has kept strong his long-standing reputation as a creative producer. But in August of 2008, the two artists released a second collaboration to the world. Everything That Happens Will Happen Today is definitely a different record than Bush of Ghosts. The latter was created in the early ‘80s, when The Talking Heads were experimenting heavily with polyrhythms and dancey alt-rock, and much of that work clearly bled into the collaboration with Eno. Everything That Happens might be more conventional, but only in relative terms. Much of it features quieter rock-pop with strange electronic warblings behind traditional instruments (check out "Home," the album opener, for an example of this). More interesting are songs such as "Wanted For Life," featuring Byrne at his very best, taking his voice unusually high or low at times, sounding very much like an odd studio instrument himself. "I Feel My Stuff" opens with spider-crawl piano keystrokes, a steady beat and Byrne’s bizarre vocal stylings. It’s a much darker song, and a rarity on this record, which mostly includes more upbeat music. "I Feel My Stuff" is definitely one of the best tracks on the album, change tone from quiet to all out rocker, with a druggy, echoing sound throughout the track. According to a video available on the album’s promotional site, http://www.everythingthathappens.com (where you can also stream the album for free), Eno wrote the music years ago, but could never write lyrics for it that he liked. Byrne stepped in to sing and perform them live, and David Byrne tickets get you into his current tour, where he’s performing the songs off this album and many off his previous collaboration with Eno, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.
