India’s future is in the hands of today’s younger generation, who eventually as grown-ups will face the challenge of the “graying society.” Today’s youth should take care of their aging parents at an increasing cost, as if they are taking care of their own. Disappointingly, very little is being done to educate our youth on aging issues. The majority of high school students get little information on the aging. But, there are many NGO’s helping on this, by developing quality educational resources for educating kids, in relation to aging by pairing with various schools. A lot of Aged care homes are available all over India for elderly, who no longer have any home to live and call for good accommodation as well as care. These organizations provide home support for the elderly. All aged care homes have got to offer a range of care services for all elderly, with a number of added services for individuals, conditional on their requirements. HiSave is an NGO for old age people helping elderly as well as underprivileged people in India. It helps them via different projects for the care of old people and give them home support. The organization voices the problems of India’s aged population. At present, there are expected to be 90 million old citizens in the country. It looks after their rights, concentrating on problems, for example retirement funds, social inclusion and health care and allows them to be in this world with self-fulfillment as well as self-respect. The organization was created in 1978 by Mr. Jackson Cole (UK). Its aim is to work countrywide for the cause and concern of needy elder people and to perk up their quality of life. Help Age India runs a range of plans for senior citizens through its different ventures like SAVE. Regular support plans, lectures as well as Intergenerational Walkathon are initiated by SAVE all over the country, to create understanding amongst students on elderly issues. HiSave performs social work for elderly and also sensitize children on aging problems. The main reason of this initiative is to bring forward the old age problems among school going kids, with the intention that they take care of the old people with care, affection and respect. It is implementing such learning programs in the school as well as the community outside. Through such programs, it helps old age people in restoring their self-respect and esteem.
