Often we meet trade show exhibit displays related clients who have many years of experience in advertising agencies. These people are masters at 2D concepts for print ads as well as concept for Tele marketing advertisements. However, when it comes to thinking of structural communication in trade show exhibition USA – their concepts are more intuitive and less expressive. Hence sometimes it takes longer for us (USA based trade show stand building company) to explain 3D communication to them. This brings us to the main thought – who are these concepts for? Are they for the client who are not aware of exhibition systems; for the exhibitions or trade fair visitors OR for the designers? This is when our strong communication skills and exhibition industry experience again comes into play. I remember the trainings in which it was drilled into our heads ‘Customer Is King.’ If viewed from this perspective – then our clients’ customers are the exhibition visitors. They are the people who have to understand the structural communication. Sometimes this leads me to think – ‘if creative heads of large agencies don’t understand the language of structures, then how will exhibition visitors ever understand what we are trying to communicate?’ The answer lies in human psychology. Open white spaces that use elements like glass and slight amount of floral décor look peaceful to everybody’s eyes then be it a Portable, Modular or Custom-Modular display. A combination of black spaces with bold pink graphics speaks of fashion and fun. Orange speaks enthusiasm coupled with warmth AND structures that have large lounge areas with comfortable seating are perfect service speak of customer orientation and relationship building. This leads to the fact that exhibit design system concept need not always be in terms of what a structure says – it can be more in terms of what feeling is evoked in a visitor when he/she is within this kind of space.
