Training a cat requires complete understanding about the animal's behavior. Kneading A kitten that nurses from a mother cat is known to instinctively perform this action. It does this by first pressing one paw and the other paw against its mother's stomach. As cats grow, some of them still continue to knead. It usually reflects the animal's affection and contentment along with its purring behavior. Apart from the mother cat, the kitten may also knead on other soft materials like your sweater, pillow, comforter, or your lap. Curiosity Cats, regardless if they are tamed house animals or wild creatures; share a common characteristic of being curious. The bigger cat species like leopard and lynx may pounce on a prey in the wild; and your house cat will pounce on a leaf that is moving. Cats are instinctive in nature and they are very curious. You can see them climbing on anything in order to explore what is around them. Ensure that the animal is not locked up accidentally inside the closet or bathroom. You have to be watchful and mindful about where your cat is going for its exploration. Feline Body Language The cat can use its specific body parts to relay a message. Observing how your cat moves will make you realize that there are still other important things behind the graceful movements of cats. With the way a cat moves, you can already foretell its behavior. Its eyes, tail and ears can send out important messages about what it thinks and feels. The cat's ears for example; it they are pricked forward, it means that the animal is relaxed and contents.
