You need to know that there are big changes in the future for the amount of governmental involvement in the mortgage business and home or business loans. With the mortgage meltdown in 2007-2009, regulators and legislators have become involved in making changes to the industry. There are big changes coming down that will limit the direct involvement of government in the mortgage business such Fannie and Freddie . A great deal of this is coming from the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Many other people are looking at the proposed Quality Residential Mortgage (QRM) rules.
