The Indian Real Estate sector is expected to grow by 30 percent in the coming years. No wonder the our construction industry is ranked third among the 14 major sectors in terms of the effects caused by all sectors of the economy. This steep rise in the real estate of the country is a result of efficient government policies and intelligent use of resources with the developers. Liberalization of the economy took the real estate sector to a whole new height with increasing business opportunities and labour migration, which consequently lead to the rise in demand for commercial and housing space. India’s infrastructure has improved greatly over the years and the real estate and construction companies have worked really hard to bring it to the level where it is today. Development in hospitality and entertainment industries, economic services and information technology-enabled services can be attributed to the success and growth of the Indian Real Estate Industry. The Indian Real Estate Sector has four subdivisions: housing, retail, hospitality and commercial. All four of these divisions are growing successfully and adding to the country’s economy. Five-six percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) is contributed by the housing subdivion. The increasing number of hospitals, hotels, resorts, businesses houses etc, show how the country’s infrastructure is expanding and improving by the day. Real Estate in India has attracted investors from all over the world and infact, the foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in our country’s real estate for the year 2011-12 (April-January) stood at Rs 2,750 crore!
