It was never easy to be a man and meet everybody’s expectations. Agreed that a woman is the centre of everybody’s universe, but of course a man makes a potential pole star too. Well, all that hue and cry about MEN’s WORLD and women being the weaker and vulnerable section , may need a second consideration with this new age man emerging with a stronger feminine side to him. Yes, man is an emotional, sentimental and very vulnerable creature that needs to be understood in a different light under given circumstances. Gender traits is a defined set of attitude, behaviour pattern and self-projection patterns specific to a certain biological sex. In other words it says “How a man is supposed to be like”. Men usually grow up learning these traits under the laid down rules of masculinity from their elders, social media and peer group that fall under three broad categories: Honour: duty, loyalty, responsibility, integrity, selflessness and compassion Strength: Physical capability, emotional toughness, endurance, courage, self-reliance, aggression and rationality Action: competitiveness, ambition, work on grounds and risk-taking Failures, disappointments and despair become inevitable in the quest to keep all the above intact. But how many are comfortable to talk about this elusive facet? How many are ready to confess their failures, their deepest, untouched emotions or hidden secrets and feel lighter, despite a strong unnerving desire to do so? For the simple reason, that most live under this false notion that doing so will bring their masculinity to a question. This is an undeniable fact that men have a different perspective to every situation and they deal with it in a manner that may be entirely contradictory to how women would react to it. That is what brings the mental conflict that needs to be dealt with. There is a paramount need to break free of this preconceived notion and divulge all. Men need to be encouraged to make their confession, be it their unspoken love, their darkest secret, their failures and disappointments that they are apprehensive to talk about or their wrong-doings that lead someone to trouble or anything that haunts their being. They must feel free to make an anonymous and secret confession and go back to a normal life with an unburdened heart and a much more prolific brain. How will it help men to make that long overdue confession? Posting a confidential confession gives the inner satisfaction of having a confidant, who will not judge you on any parameters.
