The Callaway RAZR X line of irons include the RAZR X, RAZR X Tour and RAZR X Forged irons. The Callaway RAZR X Tour irons have a slightly smaller head compared to the standard RAZR X; and other differences include less offset and a thinner topline in the Tour model compared to the standard model. The company claims the irons are for "golfers looking to make the jump from being a high handicap to a single digit player." So while they target both distance and forgiveness, the irons keep certain looks from players' clubs, such as the thin sole width. Both the RAZR X and RAZR X Tour irons have lowered centers of gravity and undercut cavities. Inspired by prototypes developed with Phil Mickelson, the Callaway RAZR X Hybrid is manufactured with a new heat-treatment process that reduces face thickness for higher ball speeds. The standard model has a club face with a Zero Roll Design, which produces higher launch angles on shots hit low on the face for greater distance and a soft landing. The tour model has less offset to enhance workability. The best price RAZR X hybrid simply powered its way to the top with five out of five distance marks from three of the four testers – Dave, Leon and Ben. In fact, in Dave’s hands this could do no wrong as he scored perfect fives in every category commenting on the fast ball speeds and superb feedback off the face. Ben was equally complimentary saying there wasn’t anything not to like. Chris said the club looked as though it would go pretty high but instead it delivered a strong ball fl ight for him. he admitted that, coupled with the bigger clubhead from front to back, this would give a lot of confidence to higher handicap golfers. Leon loved the performance off the fairway as well as the sharp aesthetics, which he said inspired confi dence. The family of hybrids also includes a tour profi le head for better players which delivers a lower, more penetrating ball fl ight while still utilising the same technology.
