Paris has been a favourite destination for British holiday makers forever; a beautiful, romantic city that has so much to offer whether you are with your loved one or just travelling alone. It is one of the most famous cities in the entire world and when you take a look at the attractions it is easy to see why. It has recently been announced that you can now get a coach from London to Paris for as little as £4, so here are five attractions that must be visited if you decide to go on a day trip: • Sacre-coeur – Start the day off by climbing the iconic white steps of the Sacre-coeur to be rewarded with the best view of Paris you could ever hope for. The walk is quite a tiring one, but combine the unbelievable view with the astonishing wonders you find inside the church and you will know it was worth the effort. If you are really tired, why not catch the tram back down? • Notre-Dame – Paris’s cathedral is none all over the world, and not just for the hunchback. This is one of the best examples of classic gothic architecture and truly follows on Paris’s tradition of breath taking buildings. • Palace of Versailles – Onto the next incredible piece of architecture and you really will start to doubt your eyes. Inside the palace is truly stunning and combined with the beautiful parkland, complete with statues and fountains, you could easily spend a whole day in this area. This is the tourist attraction that the most Parisians visit on a regular basis, which is always a good sign in the search of the best sites. • La Louvre – Arguably the world’s most famous art gallery and museum, La Louvre will have you captivated from the moment that you set eyes on it. Housing a dramatic glass pyramid protruding from the ground, this museum never fails to impress. However, it is what is inside that counts, one of the best collections of art in the world, including the legendary Mona Lisa. • Eiffel Tower – Last but not least the structure that everybody has seen before, the Eiffel Tower. France’s answer to Blackpool tower, this structure was originally meant to be a temporary feature, but the locals loved it so much it never got taken down. The big decision here is whether or not to foot the bill and bare the queue in order to take the lift up the structure. From experience the view from the Sacre-coeur is equally good if not better, but it is nice to say that you have done it.
