Mardi Himal Trek Detail

Travel & Tourism
Mardi Himal trek is one of the short and easy treks located in the Annapurna region. The highest elevation of this trek is above 4000 meters from the sea level. The major highlight of this trek is close views of a beautiful mountain fishtail. Mainly, this trek is very much suitable for your family, friends as well as beginner trekkers too but they should have trekking capacity. Make sure you need to walk for long hours in a day.

Mardi Himal trek is an alternative to the Ghorepani Poon hill trek. It is a newly famous short trek in the Annapurna region and lots of internal and external trekkers are enjoying its beauty.

THE MAJOR HIGHLIGHT OF MARDI HIMAL TREK

Mardi Himal trek is the most beautiful trekking destination and amazing place to see the close views of the mountain range. The major attraction of this trek is the views of Annapurna Massif as well as the mountain fishtail. The trail goes through the forest routes so you can see the national flowers of Nepal (Rhododendron) along with different wild animals and species of birds. You can also observe the local people and their culture.

SHORT ITINERARY ROUTINE OF MARDI HIMAL TREK

Mainly, this five days itinerary routine is suitable for those trekkers who have lots of walking capacity and also haven’t enough time to trek. Otherwise, you can also follow the simple itinerary too with lots of acclimatization day.

DAY1. Drive to Kande (1770m) _ 45 min and trek to Forest camp (2520m) _ 8 hrs

According to the itinerary routine, your first-day trek starts from Pokhara then drive to Kande. You will find a private taxi and local bus but I recommended you to drive by a private taxi which takes nearly 45 min but the local bus takes lots of time to reach. You will reach Kande then your trekking routes begin and trek ahead for few minutes then you will reach Australian Camp and follow the same trail then you will leave Pothana and continue towards the forest trail until Deurali. After a few minutes, you will reach Deurali and have lunch then ascending towards the dense forest for 4 hours, you will reach Forest Camp and spend your first night there.

DAY2. Trek from Forest Camp to High Camp (3540m) _ 8 hours

You need to wake up early in the morning because you need to trek for long hours. You will continue your treks after having breakfast in Forest Camp towards High Camp. Following the same trail, you will cross rest camp along with low cam and you will reach Badal Danda where you will have lunch as well as explore the amazing views of mountain along with the valley and trek through the tree line until High Camp then enjoy the views and spent your second night.

DAY3. Trek to Mardi Base Camp (4250m) _4 hrs and hike down to Badal Danda (3200m) _ 8 hrs

You need to trek towards base camp after having your breakfast. This is your best day as you reach your destination. After hiking around 4 hours through the forest routes then you will reach Mardi Base Camp and enjoy the amazing views as well as feel the nature. The views of this base camp are fabulous where you will see the mountain fishtail and most of the trekkers' loss towards the views of the mountains. After spending some minutes then follow back towards high camp and have lunch. Continue the trekking routes then back to Badal Danda and spend your night.

DAY4. Trek from Badal Danda to Siding village (1700m) _ 4 hrs

From Badal Danda, you will hike a downhill path to reach the Siding village. Continue the trekking routes and you can explore the animals’ sheds, some villages as well as you need to treks through the forest too then you will arrive at Siding village where you can take rest. But if you want to reach Pokhara earlier then you can also drive a private taxi and reach as fast as possible otherwise, spend your night there.

DAY5. Trek from Siding village to Lumre _ 2 hrs and drive back to Pokhara _ 2 hrs

This day is your last day to trek and after having breakfast you will continue your trek from siding village to reach Lumre. You will hike for around 2 hours then you will arrive at Lumre and drive back to Pokhara. From Lumre it takes around 2 hours to reach Pokhara and take a rest as well as celebrate the farewell party.

COST OF MARDI HIMAL TREK

Generally, the cost of the Mardi Himal trek isn’t too expensive and the cost is regarded according to the service provided during treks as well as itinerary routine too. Mainly, it takes around USD 500 to USD600 to complete these treks. Mainly, Mardi Himal is such a place where you can enjoy the views of mountains as well as natural beauty. This trek is very much suitable for those trekkers who haven’t enough time to trek
