The people in these forums are actively involved in the niche, and they are more than likely interested in related products or services. Also search engines love forums because of constantly updated and relevant content. This often makes forums rank high naturally. The easiest way to find relevant forums is to Google the following : [keyword] forum. Once you found a couple of interesting forums the first thing you need to do is …..LISTEN. Listen to what people are talking about and what type of conversations are going on. Try to establish who the “experts” are in the forum. You want to position yourself along side these people. Start participating in conversations , but ONLY talk about what you actually know. You want people to recognize you as a credible person and eventually an authority on the subject. Whatever you do….DON’T spam the forum. Members are very protective of their forums and they are very quick to get rid of spammers, and rightfully so. So how do you get actual traffic from forums? Well, find out what peoples problems are by listening , asking and surveys on the forum, then you create a product of free report that solves the problem. Most forums will allow you to ad a signature to your posts. Use this to promote your free report or product which contains the solution to their biggest problems. Make it an effective ad, not just a plain link. I would suggest you make at least about fifty comments on a forum before you add your link. This will show people you are genuinely interested in the topic and that you are not just there for traffic. Ask questions that you know will get a response. This can be rhetorical, controversial or just opinionated. This should generate a high number of responses which in turn lead to a high number of views. Each view is a potential click on your link!
