Law report informs the judiciary about legal issues in a case. A law report consist of introduction, the body and conclusion. Introduction of the law report represent ten percent of the word count, outlining the brief interpretation of the thesis statement. Legal reports are commonly called legal memos. Objectives memos which explains legal issues. Research carried when writing a law report determines quality of report to be written. Lecture notes, interviews, earlier cases and judgment are good examples of the sources of information. Introduce both primary and secondary sources of information correctly. Legal issues can be persuasive of present all the facts from one point. First step is to find the question presented. The question should show the applicable law of the subject. Choose a topic of interest and which is within the set guidelines. On how to write a law report formulate research question from the topic. Introduction of the report introduces the main argument. Provide a broader information of the report in the introduction. In the body part, introduce each idea in a separate paragraph. Support the argument with supporting facts citing the references. Be confident when writing and make sure that there is systematic flow of the report. Use correct punctuation and correct grammar. When writing a law report, avoid using many quotations. It is advisable to avoid emotive language. Proofread law report before submission to make sure that there is no spelling errors. Sum up all the arguments of the entire report in conclusion part. Avoid introducing any new idea in the conclusion. A conclusion paragraph is simple and precise. Make sure that law report is formatted according to the set rules. Law papers are normally formatted different from other academic papers.
