The Australia consumer law (ACL) and competition and consumer act (CCA) will attract fine and penalties in cases of breach of contract terms under ACL. Fines are in monetary form and are imposed by the court in criminal proceedings. Penalties are monetary fines which are imposed and collected by the civil courts. The calculation of the monetary amount of penalty is independent. Competition and consumer act (CCA) prohibits the cartel conduct and makes it a criminal offense, resale price maintenance, anti-competitive mergers and misuse of market power. For corporations, the most fines and penalties will be greater three times the value of the benefit obtained by one or more persons. According to Australia consumer law (ACL) unconscionable conduct, false or misleading conduct, pyramid selling and various product safety provisions will attract penalties. Penalties are imposed for non-compliance and the court can rule the imprisonment for up to twelve months. The court can also direct the person to pay to the commonwealth an amount of any financial benefit that the person acquired that can be attributed to the breach. Business in breach of the carbon tax price reduction obligation may be liable for the court imposed penalty of up to $1358910
