Skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) is a type of visa that allows the skilled workers to work and live in low populated areas of Australia for a duration of 4 years. The applicant can be in or outside Australia when making application for skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489). The latter pathway entry pathway, invited pathway and extended stay are the major pathways of skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489). Skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) may lead to permanent skilled regional visa (subclass 887). The processing of skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) varies with the pathways. The extended stay pathway is meant for applicants who hold subclass 475,485,495 and 496. In the extended stay pathway, one can work for any employer in any occupation. The invited pathway is for the applicants who cannot meet extended stay pathway criteria. Subsequent entry pathway is for applicants who are the members of a family unit and who holds subclass 475,487, 496 or 495. When applying skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) you can in or outside Australia or when the decision is made. You must meet the health and character requirements. You must make sure that there is no outstanding debt that belongs to Australian government before applying for skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489). In case you have debt, you must make an arrangement on how to repay. As an applicant, you cannot be eligible for skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489) if at all you had your visa canceled or even refused when you were still in Australia. To eligible for skilled regional (provisional) visa (subclass 489), you must be 45years and below and you must give evidence for competent English.
