Dependent child visa (subclass 445) is a temporary visa. The visa allow the child travel and from Australia until when the permanent partner visa for parent is finalized. Dependent child visa (subclass 445) is needed when the child is to be included to the visa after the parents have been granted temporary visa. Dependent child visa (subclass 445) takes 10- 15 months to be processed. Child applying for dependent child visa (subclass 445) must be dependent child of a parent who holds temporary partner visa. It is the responsibility of the parent to lodge the visa application for a child. the child applying for dependent child visa(subclass 445) must be a biological child of the parent, or a legally adopted child, stepchild, the child must be able to meet the health and character requirements, a child must be single and must be sponsored by the person sponsoring the parent. The child must be younger than 18 years or must be financially dependent of the parent and incapacity to work due to disability. Dependent child visa (subclass 445) is not granted if it is against the interest of a child. The health results are only valid for 12 months and a child is advised not to organize for health examination unless requested to do so. The child must make sure that there is no outstanding debt that belongs to Australian government before making an application. If the child has attained 16 years, a child must give a police certificate from the country live for 12 months and more for 10 years after turning 16 years of age. The child is advised not to arrange for a police certificate unless if requested to do so. The child can be in or outside Australia when applying dependent child visa (subclass 445).
