Thirteen works by Denise Corbelli exhibited in Technokolla’s stand (outdoor area 45 – stand 32) depict the company’s products from the construction site to the canvas. Building materials turn into art thanks to a creative alchemy that knowingly mixes the craftsman’s skill with a passion for painting. On show from 29 September to 3 October. When Technokolla asked her to create a series of works using floor adhesives, grouting and the bonding agents used for building, and to then exhibit them at Cersaie '09, Denise Corbelli certainly didn’t hesitate and immediately answered “yes”. As a painter, decorator, admirer of the Renaissance masters and classicism, she found the challenge irresistible. On the other hand, if Basquiat used the walls of Manhattan as canvases for his creations and Andy Warhol opted for Campbell’s soup cans as the subject of his works, why not measure one’s skills with finishing compounds, waterproofers and bioecological products for refurbishing and tile laying? “I love challenges, especially this one since it allowed me to experiment with the expressive potential of unconventional materials,” explained Denise. “I couldn’t wait to start work. I wanted to put my technical and creative skills to the test: each of the canvases was either inspired by an artist, like Mirò, Morandi and Burri, or a movement like “Impermeable grey”, which reflects the themes dear to abstractionism.” All this gave rise to “Build the Art”, the project that transferred Technokolla’s products from the construction site to the canvas in a new alphabet that adds to the numberless languages of painting. The works will be on show in Technokolla’s stand at the Cersaie International Trade Fair from 29 September to 3 October (outdoor area 45 – stand 32). “The works will be offered for sale for charity,” added Denise. “Part of the proceeds will be assigned to the “Quadrifoglio” center, run by the social cooperative CO.RE.S.S. for differently able persons, minors and elderly people in difficulty.” So this year, there are at least three reasons for not missing the Bologna fair: discovering Technokolla's latest innovations, seeing Denise Corbelli's works and helping the less fortunate.
