John Amaechi, a former NBA player, a psychologist, New York Times best-selling author and social entrepreneur working in both the US and Europe, talked to us about his favourite speaking event, his first ever speech, the speech he'd most like to give and how he marries anecdote with research and my experience as a psychologist to make presentations impactful and enduring. With her background in psychology, the comedienne Ruby Wax is trying to tame the outsized egos of the business world with her new venture - executive coaching or as she prefers to call it, management retraining. Her focus is on teaching four basic principles: self awareness, self management, social awareness, and relationship management. In a credit-crunched world, Ruby believes that there is a real need for these skills.
