This annual award competition goes to a city or town where citizens with disabilities are fully included in their community with respect to transportation, housing, employment, voting, education as well as a full range of recreational cultural and social activities. Award winners receive $25,000 and serve to inspire replication in other cities and towns throughout the country. Places that have received the award include: Berkeley, California; Austin, Texas; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Pasadena, California; Irvine California; and Phoenix, Arizona.
