What happened to most of us in 2009 and the year before even? We got told that there was a worldwide crisis everywhere and by everyone… and you know what happened? There actually was a worldwide crisis because, in our minds, we believed it. However, I remember been told that there was recession starting but I actually thought to myself: “Is there really? I haven’t noticed it myself. If this is true, am I going to suffer because of the recession too?” Guess what happened. Yep!!! I got affected by it because I started to think that way. Funnily enough, up until that point did you notice how I was not even thinking that way? Did you notice how I was convinced of doing well and, by thinking this; it was becoming a reality for me? That is the point I am trying to make here. 2010 can also be a better year for you. In fact, it can be your best year yet! They say life begins at 40. Well, mine was just like that if it means that everything you’ve worked for goes down the drain and you got to start all over again. My mum was diagnosed with cancer, my home business went down, I got a repossession order on my property, I was unable to keep up the hire purchase agreement payments on my car and was falling behind big time, creditors knocking on my door, pennies in my pocket, a 2 year old daughter to look after, a deteriorating relationship with my partner… You name it! Thank goodness for all the personal development books that I have been reading, as these kept my mind from going absolutely bananas. I knew there was a way out and it had to come from me or nowhere and nobody else, so I picked up some courage and started thinking: “What can I learn from all this and help prevent from happening again?” The answer came to me when I first looked back as to when it all started. Something happened. Something that was the first sparkle to the whole shebang that followed. Yes, I changed the way I was thinking. That is what happened. I started to think that I might get affected by the recession and that is just what happened to me. Don’t you find that you do that sometimes? You think: “Oh! I hope I don’t bump into such and such today!” and low and behold, you do… I not only changed my way of thinking, I also started to think of ways I never thought about producing extra income and ways of raising capital to fund those ideas that I never thought about. Let’s face it; I didn’t have any money so I had to be really inventive and creative here. I was lucky enough to be classified as a financial hardship person and therefore was awarded some money back through unfair “UK bank charges”. I did study every possible opportunity carefully and took the courage to take the plunge and go into what is now my current business from home: YourNetBiz, http://www.YourNetBiz.me.uk. Within my first week I got back my return on my initial investment and things just started to get better and better. I am able to run this business at hours that suit me and my family is around me and I am seeing my daughter grow up (every day) and she sees her daddy and mummy at home every day. Surely, life has got to be more than money, money, money… Sure, it can help, but in my opinion the quality of lifestyle you get with it is probably even more important.
