No trip to the Gold Coast is complete without visiting during the time of The Wintersun Festival, which is an annual 10-day extravaganza featuring over 100 bands, classic and custom cars as well as dancing, games, and so much more. This event, which is held at Coolangatta, also known as ‘The Gateway to Queensland’ attracts music lovers from all over the world. And even if you are not overly fond of music, you are still going to enjoy yourself here, because there is so much more than just music here! When it comes to sporting events, no one does it better than the Gold Coast. From the Anaconda Adventure Race where you take an off road adventure through the Hinterlands in September to the October nib Coolangatta Gold, one of the premier Ironman and Ironwoman events, there is so much to enjoy in the world of sports. The Nitro SuperGP, also taking place in October is an exciting motorsport event that everyone should go to. And being the land of the surf, how can it be that there are no events related to surfing? Fret not, because there are plenty of surfing championships, which take place on the golden beaches of this area.
