It is used in the interlinking and data communication fields of LAN and WAN as well as for the single and multi-mode conversion. The modulated fiber optic converter conducts transparent conversion between the media of single mode and multi-mode optical fiber and connects FDDI, fast Ethernet or ATM at 1310nm wavelength for fiber optic transmission. This single-mode to multi-mode converter conforms to the IEEE82.3u and 100BASE-TX/FX standards and supports up to 120km transmission distance. It is able to switch among 1310nm, 1550nm single-mode fibers and 850nm, 1300nm multi-mode fibers. These features make the practical converter an ideal device for short reach multimode fibers, long reach single mode fibers, Bi-Di and CWDM applications.
