Omega3 Sources Should Be the Part of Your Daily Diet Regimen

Doctors around the globe recommend a healthy diet consisting of omega3 sources. This is because of following three reasons -

First, omega three fatty acids are essential. The word essential means that these fats are very much required by the human body for its proper growth and development, but cannot be produced by the body. Hence, omega3 sources should be included explicitly in the daily diet regimen.

Second, benefits of omega three fats are enormous and incomparable. Regular consumption of omega3 sources reduces the signs of ADHD, ADD, Bipolar disorder, Autism and Dyslexia. These fats help in increasing the retaining, comprehending, concentrating, and vocabulary skills. They are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, thus are effective in curing various forms of Arthritis and other painful conditions.

Blood-thinning properties of omega-3 fatty acids keeps heart healthy, reduces cholesterol and triglycerides level. They also keep the blood pressure under control.

Last but not the least is that most of us are deficient in omega three fats. The food that we eat daily (meat and processed, and oily food), have high amounts of omega-6 and very less percentage of omega-3 fats. Ideally, we should have only four parts of omega six against each part of omega three fats. However, because of the eating habits this ratio has risen up to 20:1 in many individuals.

All these factors together conclude that omega-3 food sources should be the part of every body's daily diet regimen. Deficiency of this wonderful fat can be dangerous.

Various omega-3 food sources are cold and oily fish like hoki, tuna, mackerel, salmon, fish supplements, green leafy vegetables, tofu, soya, flaxseeds, hemp oil, pumpkin oil, flaxseed oil, walnuts, etc.

Of all the food sources, that we just discussed, fish oil supplements are the best. This is because they contain DHA and EPA omega three fatty acids while the other food sources are rich only in ALA omega three fats. Studies have proven that most of the benefits of omega-3 are because of DHA. Therefore, to reap the maximum health benefits, it is recommended that you should take omega3 sources that are rich in DHA.

You may argue that because these supplements are made from fish, so why not eat fish directly. This is because of the various impurities present in the fish (courtesy polluted ocean water). Supplements on the other hand, undergo various refining processes and hence are toxin free.
