Every city is proud to have its own fair share of museums. These buildings house many old relics, classic slices of history and other items that reveal how the past has led the way towards the future. More than 100,000 Londoners lost their lives in the plague which ravaged the city back in 1665, and the following year those that were left had to battle the Great Fire of London. All these events and more are retold at the museum every day. The British Museum is also worth a look if you want to widen your view beyond London itself. The name of this museum doesn’t give you many clues as to what is inside, since it holds many different treasures from all around the world. You can go back in time to ancient Egypt or head across to ancient Greece to see many artefacts from that time if you wish. This only touches the surface of what they have to show you. London certainly has a lot to offer in the way of museums.
