May 20 will be National Learning at Work Day 2010, the UK's biggest annual celebration of workplace learning. This will take place as part of Adult Learners' Week and this year has the theme of ‘Creating Connections’. It will see thousands of people in workplaces across the country dedicating themselves to learning something new and celebrating learning achievements. The idea is to get involved in the biggest annual celebration of workplace learning and uncover new skills, build new partnerships and help people to reach your business goals all at the same time! This year’s "Creating Connections" theme highlights the links between different types of learning such as informal and formal learning, it is hoped that it will show the benefits of bringing people together to learn from each other and show how vital the strength of partnerships and the role of learning in organisational success is to the health of a business. The themed activity areas are: * Connect People * Connect Learning * Connect Areas Catalyst Learning and Development is proud to promote National Learning at Work Day. "It's a really worthwhile exercise," said Nick Horan, Catalyst's Managing Director "and the themes and aims of National Learning at Work Day go hand in hand with what we do every other day of the year". Through years of experience Catalyst know that many organisations would like to get involved in Learning at Work Day, yet because of business commitments, it's often a challenge to enable employees time away from their duties. To help these organisations get involved in National Learning at Work Day, Catalyst are seeking to work in partnership with companies to organise Active Knowledge Bites™ sessions This activity is aimed squarely at giving staff the opportunity to experience the effectiveness of this practical, fun, flexible and focused 90+ minute session. Active Knowledge Bites™ are provided at the organisation's premises and Catalyst can run up to 3 90 minute sessions in a single day for up to 20 delegates at each session. They have drawn on their vast reserves of expertise in the training and coaching field and have designed these sessions to raise awareness on a wide range of topics. Bundled with tricks, tips and tools; Active Knowledge Bites™ are a cost and time effective way of bringing training to your staff. All courses are supported with relevant material and an Action Plan for embedding knowledge.
