A Truck is a work vehicle that at any situation must stand up to the daily abuse that its very demanding job throws at it any time, it is the main mode of transportation for many drivers. And thus, selecting the right truck tires that is the most suitable for your needs is quite important. Now, we all know that truck tires come in a myriad of shapes and sizes and their prices can vary substantially. We all know that tires are a very important component of any vehicle as it is the only part that contacts the road; it is what gives our vehicle traction for acceleration, cornering and braking so it is very important to choose the right tire for your vehicle. Driving Style and location: The first and most step in choosing your truck tires is to see which type of driver you are and where you generally drive. If you drive on the highways then the type of truck tires that you will suit you will be different from someone who drives off-road on a regular basis. If your truck is built for speed and performance, then a wide, low profile tire will be perfect for your truck. But keep in mind that such a truck tire will not last very long, especially if you do any driving on gravel or tend to hit the odd curb. If you are an off road driver then consider these two factors; Traction and size. A huge 22 inch mudder might be the tire that suits you truck, but then make sure that your truck has the required clearance to fit such a tire. otherwise, it might require slight modifications to the truck. Put safety first: Look for tires that do well in tests for braking, handling, and resistance to hydroplaning. Also consider Winter traction. Keep in mind that a manufacturer's warranty doesn't always reflect how a tire will wear. Know your tire's size: Find the size and type of tire recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle, check the placard in the doorjamb or glove compartment, on the fuel-filler door, or in the owner's manual. Speed rating: It is recommend to buy tires with the same or greater speed rating as the original equipment tires. Read the fine print: The tread-wear warranties manufacturers provide for their tires are pro-rated; the more miles on the tire, the less credit you get on a replacement. Shop around: Tire prices can vary widely by region, and retailer. Check independent tire dealers, online or mail-order stores, tire chains, car dealerships, department stores etc. Buy fresh: Look at the sidewall of a tire for a designation beginning with DOT (for Department of Transportation). The last four digits of the designation indicate the week and year of manufacture. For example, 3307 means the tire was made during the 33rd week of 2007. Don't purchase tires that are more than a few years old. Just remember that changing the tire size can also significantly change the performance of the truck. No matter which type of tire you choose, always remember that proper care and maintenance is the key to significantly increase the life of the tire. Always rotate them fairly often, check the tire pressure every one to two weeks and if you notice wear on one side or the other, get the truck booked in for a front end alignment. http://www.ceattyres.in/
