I am really into nature and love to go on hikes. I remember I was going through a difficult time in my life and made it up halfway on a mile high mountain. I was out of breath, dehydrated, and dirty from getting lost on some of the trails. I told myself, if I can make it to the top, then I can make it through anything. An hour later, I made it to the top and was rewarded with a breathtaking view of the sun setting above the clouds. I was literally above the clouds watching the sun set on a bed of white fluffiness, setting the clouds on fire with color. It was a moment that I will never forget. One moment that I will actually want to try to forget is when I went hiking in the forest and turned my ankle and had to limp all the way home. I came home with blisters all over my feet. I immediately threw out those cursed pair of shoes and tried to find a real pair of hiking shoes rather than a crummy pair of sneakers. I found a great pair and could tell the difference immediately on my first hike. First of all, it took so much less energy to walk. The way that the heel is designed helps roll your walking motion so that it meets with minimum resistance. Over several miles, this makes a huge difference. Secondly, I noticed that the traction on the bottom of my sole helped grip the terrain and prevented me from slipping on loose dirt and even wet rocks. This is really important to not lose extra energy by slipping and you could also fall and get hurt. Finally, I noticed that with a great pair of hiking shoes that it really helps give you support for you ankles and can help prevent against injury. These shoes are made to be durable, so please check out these few examples to find a shoe that works for you. Hiking is a great activity so make sure you have great shoes to match.
If you want a shoe that is really durable and will last a long time, then try to get a leather one. These also are a lot warmer for your feet. So if you are hiking in a cold climate, leather can help prevent from frostbite. They also look really cool. You will look very rugged and tough wearing one of these shoes.
High top hiking shoes also offer the greatest amount of support for your ankles. If you might be hiking over wet areas or slippery regions, please consider your own safety and get one of these shoes. You will not regret it. Although it might be a little bit harder to walk, the extra protection is definitely worth it.
Finally, there are the low top hiking shoes. If you are going through long trails that are not slippery and are actually dry, then use these shoes. They are a lot easier to walk in.
