Trethowans Team Stronger than Ever The ranks of growing Southampton and Salisbury solicitors Trethowans have been bolstered with the news of a number of new Partner arrivals. Hot on the heels of Commercial Property Partner Paul Longman, who joined Trethowans from Coffin Mew in April, Trethowans has recruited Nick Gent, Caroline Matthews, and Jenny Rogerson as Partners. Nick is joining Trethowans Corporate Team, Caroline has already joined the Licensing Team, and Jenny is joining the Commercial Property Team. This brings the total number of Partners to 26. Nick Gent joins the Trethowans Corporate Team from Blake Lapthorn. Nick is an extremely experienced corporate lawyer with particular expertise in handling corporate finance transactions Nick is recognised as a leading individual in the South and is a recommended lawyer in the Chambers Guide to the legal profession being “praised for his commercial outlook, with clients appreciating his ability to simplify complex legal terminology into plain English.” Caroline Matthews is a very experienced and specialised licensing lawyer. She advises on liquor licensing and entertainment law to make sure that clients in the leisure and retail sectors operate legally, with all the correct licences in place. Caroline has acted for clients across a diverse range of sectors including many household names as well as smaller independent operators. She advises clients on obtaining licences for new build projects and large scale refurbishments as well as maintaining existing clients' licensing portfolios. She also acts as an advocate around the country. Jenny Rogerson joins Trethowans from Shoosmiths. Jenny has experience in a wide variety of commercial property transactions, particularly involving the leisure and retail sectors. Jenny is also experienced in dealing with property finance work, secured lending and transactions involving residential care homes. Jenny is returning to Trethowans after 4 years having originally trained and qualified with the firm.
