Entrepreneur, Morgan Whiteside of North West Asset Finance, has been announced as the winner of St Helens Chamber’s Enterprise Greenhouse competition. The competition was launched in February to give budding entrepreneurs like Morgan the chance to win 12 months free office space at St Helens Chamber’s Enterprise Greenhouse. Morgan fought off stiff competition from applicants from across the North West to claim his prize. Morgan, who has worked in the finance industry for over 15 years, decided to start his own asset finance brokerage, North West Asset Finance in late 2009. His business has taken off successfully from his home office, but the prospect of moving into a professional office space provided the opportunity he was looking for to help develop his business. He said: "This is fantastic for my business. Being based at home has a number of benefits; however it also restricts the growth of my business. Moving into the Enterprise Greenhouse means I can now think about taking on staff." Neil Reid, of Inspire Risk Management, who is a tenant of the Enterprise Greenhouse and was part of the judging panel, presented Morgan with his prize. He said: "We are delighted that Morgan will be joining us. He has a real enthusiasm for business and we believe that he has a great idea which is ready to grow and that’s what the Enterprise Greenhouse is all about." The Enterprise Greenhouse, located with the St Helens Chamber Building offers a unique opportunity for young businesses to flourish in a cost effective, professional environment. Funded by Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, supported by St.Helens Council, it offers 31 fully-equipped business units accommodating between one and four people, with generous rent subsidies available for the first 18 months. The other finalists were Steve Wyatt (Kiwiosity Products Ltd), Andrew Atherton (MandA Design Services) and Paul Griffiths (Lifecells).
