Being one of the biggest events in the technological world, the coming of the new iPhone 4 caused lots of commotion among the fans of Apple’s products. Expectations were high, as always, and once again Apple has managed to live to most of them. It seems that improvements were made not only to the hardware and software of the iPhone, but also to its design. The iPhone 4 is nothing less than a marvel of industrial design. Its shape differs from the previous models, which up to 3GS were curvy, being clean, but not oversimplified. It’s comprised of 2 pieces of rock-solid strengthened glass , and a stainless steel band, which wraps around the phone’s sides, giving not only the benefit of the perfect design , but also the ability to better catch various signals (WiFi, GPRS, Bluetooth). Other features include the altered volume buttons and a redesigned mute switch. And though good design is a plus, the important aspects by which most of us judge, namely the software and hardware, are what makes the iPhone a desired gadget. Most of the hardware is reportedly the same used in the iPad, resulting for more stunning productivity, and mostly faster graphics rendering. In that line of thought , the display is one of the parts of the iPhone that Apple takes most pride on - a LED 960x640 IPS screen , called the “Retina Display’. It has a very high resolution and pixel density, which can be easily noticed. Some even say it is by far the most advanced phone display with the best quality. It is equipped with two cameras – one VGA camera on the front of the device , and a 5 megapixel camera for quality shots on the back. An interesting feature allows the owners to use both cameras during a video conversation, providing a stunning effect we’re only used to seeing in sci-fi movies. Along with that, due to improvements in the battery , it can now be used for more hours than 3GS. On the software front , Apple introduces the long awaited multitasking capabilities of the iPhone. Up to 3GS , backgrounding and multitasking were strictly limited to the native software of the iPhone , while the new iPhone introduces third party backgrounding support. Now users can enjoy doing more tasks at once, without having to resort to hacks and tricks. All of that is due to the new and improved iOS4, which contains adapted versions of some iTablet programs for the smaller iPhone 4.
