Bali is an island that lies 3.2 km to the east of Java, and is about 3 km away and is nearly 8 degrees south of the equator. Bali and Java are separated by the Bali Strait. It is one of the country's 33 provinces with the provincial capital at Denpasar towards the south of the island. The island is about 153 km wide from West to the East and is roughly 112 km from the South to the North. Denpasar is the Capital of Bali and has roughly 200,000 residents followed by Singaraja located towards the North of the island.
