The use of Rimadyl for dogs has been around for a while now. How it Works The way Rimadyl works is very simple: It reduces the production of cyclooxygenase in both humans and animals. Cyclooxygenase is responsible for inflammation in joints. The only reason production of this drug for humans was ceased was because cheaper alternatives were developed that aren't suitable for canines.
