The wait is almost over! The Small Car that has caught the fancy of the nation and auto experts alike in India is soon to be launched. Micra has raised quite a storm in Indian markets and auto lovers' anticipation is sky high from the famed Nissan brand. The proof of the pudding lies in the fact that Nissan has already received more than 1000 units confirmed booking in 4 weeks after official booking was launched.
The promos have been thick and furious on the television sets with Bollywood sensation Ranbir Kapoor featuring in them. The ad is stylishly shot and highlights one of the USP of the car i.e. push button ignition. The car's looks are good and has already garnered quiet a few accolades. It looks petite and I think girls will like it more than males who will prefer more macho punto. But looks are quite subjective so don't take my views seriously.
The build quality is quite good for a small segment car. It's of high quality and has wide doors.
The interiors are quote ample with even bigger people been able to get in to the car quite comfortably. The steering can be tilted for the right position and this is quite a good feature which taller drivers will appreciate. The instrument console panel is quite staid due to cost cutting. The fabric of the seat is though quite nice. The rear legroom is quite ample. All in all, Micra is spacious and airy.
Same cannot be said of the boot space. There is just enough space for couple of small bags. But that's one disadvantage of small cars that we all are aware of.
I could not test drive Micra as those are not available yet. The HR12 1.2-litre Nissan Micra XE is powered by 3-cylinder petrol engine with a valve-timing control VTC). The vehicle is capable of generating a maximum power of 75 Bhp with a maximum torque of 104 Nm. The engine of the Vehicle has been tuned well with the manual gearbox to make it positively peppy. The car has great visibility and a class-best turning radius of 4.5 m. If you want better ride and handling characteristics, Nissan is also offering Micra XV that is designed to be compact and capable of cruising through the rough surfaces at highway speeds.
Micra has laods of features that leaves the competition miles behind. Electric mirrors, rear wiper and defogger, automatic climate control, tilt adjustable steering, power windows all around, ABS, EBD, Brakes Assist, keyless entry, airbags, push button ignition and engine immobilizer. I will run of breath but features list won't.
If you are looking for a peppy, feature loaded exciting car then Nissan Micra is the best option for you!
