Greece (interesting to know is that the Danish call it grækenland) is a destination that’s been chosen by European travelers very often in the past. That’s because it can offer many things , from beaches to historical sites, from taverns to nice hotels to sleep in. It is fascinating by itself and it’s very natural that many tourists visit Greece every year. Now, there are strikes going on in Greece, but that’s definitely not the reason to cancel a trip, because beaches and tourist destinations are always open for tourists. The Greeks are very decent, moderate and generous people, and they’d always greet you with a smile even at times like these. Greece offers many things to its visitors , for example : - Summer holiday resorts and beaches – the Mediterranean climate of Greece is very welcoming for summer holidays, and there are many places to choose from. Whichever you choose from , it’s a good place to stay, and you’re likely to have a wonderful time, because Greece is also marked as one of the cheapest destinations to visit with the best quality of service, just like Bulgaria, Croatia or Turkey. - The Greek culture – from the cultural heritage of the ancient Greeks – temples and landmarks, the infamous architecture and historical remains, to the culture of the contemporary Greeks – fisherman, people of the sea, drinking uzo (a local spirit with a unique taste) and playing the buzouki (a string instrument with a specific sound) Greece is a place that certainly has much to offer to its visitors, lots to see and hear, and a cuisine that’s worth tasting. From the local types of cheeses unique to the area and the olives and their different uses, Greece restaurants have much to offer. - Taverns – taverns are unique to the Greek culture, because there you can see traditional Greek dances like sirtaki, have traditional meals and beverages and get as close as you can to the kind spirit of the modern Greek. It’s a very pleasurable experience that you just can’t miss if you’re in Greece. So don’t be confused by the media, Greece is still open for visitors, and the occasional protests don’t make it a war zone. So don’t let that change your mind, you’ll love Greece.
