Explorer was introduced by Ford in the early 1990s. Its release coincided with the popularity that SUVs had started gaining in America. It was immediately accepted on its release and played a role in popularizing SUVs. There were SUVs earlier too but at this time people’s perception of SUVs had completely changed. They were now regarded as something more than a mere means of transportation. Explorer is a midsize SUV which besides being comfortable and stylish is also affordable.
